I switch out less and less these days with H&H, mostly because of that little pause you have to do before hitting the next skill. That little pause and the 2 seconds for the preparation are just long enough to get on my nerves.

I'm not sure that I consider vamps to have any real "healing" properties. I use them as a guaranteed +5 (or +3 for other weapons) damage per hit.

Now having an Orders Necro. That almost starts to feel like a heal.

I always switch out of battle. Sometimes I forget to switch back.

He used mending as one of his skills, but...I think the +3 regen gives a certain safety net for players. It'll take care of minor damage from most physical attacks (not counting special attacks, just regular swings) and some minor spells.

However, mending is a poor, poor substitute to counter the negative effect of frenzy. For that, I recommend a cancel stance instead.

Anyway, I rarely use vampiric weapons because I don't think the +3 life steal is all that great.
I used to always have mending on my skill bar + While enchanted shield +45 -2.Thank god that was about 1,5 years ago

55 N/mo + hb + mending == gg
55 Mo/d + Mystic Regen == No need for silly healing prayers

I try to remember to switch out when battle is over. Saves energy for the monk.

Mending: Used to do a lot of solo farming with my warrior. Mending is very useful for a lot of solo farming builds, and it will counter the vamp degen if you forget to switch.

Can't.... remove..... Zealous.... Daggers!
Lyssa.... will.... eat.... me....

[Translation: My old Zealous Steel Daggers of Fortitude have taken a back-seat to Pywatt's Talons since I got the latter.... and Shiro's Blades have sat in slot 4, almost totally unused, since time immemorial. They only ever get used for FFFing (self-sac).]

I do not use vampiric weapons. Either I have a zealous weapon (axes) or use weapons with elemental upgrades.

It is better to use a vampiric sword than a furious sword from a dps point of view, but i prefer zealous axes or sundering axes and sundering hammers when i need the weapon do physical damage. I also prefer zealous bows for barrage. And in pvp i use crippling or poisonous bowstrings.

I have vampiric weapons, but I just do not like them. I only switch between various elemental damage types and my non-vampiric physical weapon.

Mending works fine, just have a hero put it on you, or if you are a W/M you can use all adrenaline skills and use mending on yourself since you won't need your energy to regen. I use it on my W/M all the time that way.

I switch off my vamp weapon the instant I stop attacking on my warrior. I seldom use my vamp bow, except for Barrage, Volley, Needling, or Dual/Triple Shot, and almost never use my vamp spear. I just got in the habit of weapon swapping all the time. The swap delay is annoying, sometimes. I guess it may be a client/server issue, but it still bugs me waiting that split second.

Way back in the days of olde (Roughly 4 months ago...), I used a vampiric sword. I found the life stealing more fun than useful, but the constant switching--with enough of it--can get very irritating. Lucky me, I found a 20/18 sword hilt, so I use that. Ain't 20/20, but it's good enough. I also used to use vamp on my paragon. That was waaay back in the day. 'Bout around 8 months ago, I used a vamp spear, got annoyed by it.

As for Mending, it can be excellent protection against regular hits (Especially on a tank [Mending+Frenzy, anyone?].), but it's not worth it to me to give up an energy regen, especially on a sin, ranger, para, or war.

Pretty simple just switch if it doesn't look like you'l be fighting mobs for a while or if you're taking a break from the pwnage. The vampiric only helps you while fighting
